Are you a writer interested in being traditionally published and can’t fathom how to effectively pitch their book in under 500 words? Have you begun querying agents but aren’t getting pages requested with your current query? Or are you just starting out drafting and want to nail your pitch so you know what to write to? I can help.
A great query/pitch grabs attention, reveals commercial viability, and leaves the agent hungry for more. That's a lot to ask of one email, and because writing a book and pitching are two different skill sets, most writers struggle with it.
The Pitch Sesh includes a 60-minute Zoom call to discuss your manuscript or story idea, assess voice, comps, author bio, and publishing goals. After our call, I will craft a fully revised and polished pitch, log line, and query letter that will get you plucked from the slush pile OR guide you on your way to finishing your manuscript.
While this sesh does provide high level feedback on your opening pages and query strategy, query strategy and opening page revision is NOT included in this sesh. It is always strongly encouraged to purchase a One Shot package for full, well-rounded prep and positioning prior to querying.
You will receive an email within 24 hours of purchase with additional instructions and a link to schedule your call.
Please note: a very small number of querying service spaces are opened each month so space is limited.
Working with Jamie on my query & pitch was absolutely fantastic! She provided helpful insight that sharpened my query & made it more compelling. Her expertise & encouragement boosted my confidence, & I highly recommend her services to anyone looking to make their query materials stand out!
If you're looking for a query that works--book Jamie. Working with her was not only a delight, but so far I've gotten 4 full requests from her query edits. And the way she goes about crafting your query is unmatched--she understands that each story is uniquely different and has its own details that are important, but she also gets what makes an effective query and catches an agent's eye. Could not recommend her enough!
My experience with Jamie was incredible. After a five minute word vomit about my story, she was able to pull all out the heart of it, even pointing out the major theme that I didn't even realize was present. The prospect of querying is scary. Jamie made me feel confident. I can't recommend her services enough.
Thank you, Meghan! It was fabulous getting to work with you and hearing all the intricate details of your story. I'm looking forward to the the message that you've landed your agent! ;) Keep me posted. I'm cheering for you! -jamie
When you reach the end of drafting and many layers of revisions, you are often exhausted and questioning your work. But then you work with Jamie, and she reminds you of what you loved about your story from the beginning and gives you the confidence to take on the query trenches!
Aww thank you for the kind words Patricia! It was such a pleasure working with you. You have something special there and I can't wait to hear how your querying/publishing journey goes. Please keep me in the loop on updates and reach out if you have any other questions! :) -jamie
Booking one of Jamie’s pitch sessions was the best decision I made during the querying process. She is strategic, honest, passionate and knowledgeable and the suggestions she made for my query letter were amazing. I had been querying for months with no success and after implementing Jamie’s suggestions, I began receiving full requests. A short time later and I’m agented. She said it’s my pages but our call changed everything and opened the door to getting requested and read. Thank you Jamie.
Thanks Sarah! It was a joy working with you and helping to polish your query so that the heart of your story would shine through. Looking forward to purchasing at my local bookstore in the future! Cheers -jamie
